The Mungeli Hospital was started over 100 years ago to help meet the medical needs of people in a very poor area of India. Lots of rice farmers and their families live in this part of India. All of these families work very hard but still they don’t always have enough money to take their children to the doctor when they are sick or injured; or when they have a toothache; or when they need a shot to protect them from diseases such as measles, mumps and chicken pox. The Mungeli Hospital treats children whether or not their families have money to pay.
Dr. Anil Henry, a Global Ministries Missionary at the Mungeli Hospital, says there are lots of ways that you can help the kids who come to Mungeli Hospital.

In India, families provide the meals for their hospitalized family members. Many of the poorer families have trouble finding the money to buy healthy food for their sick children. And children need really healthy food to get well quickly.
- Eight pennies makes it possible for a family to buy extra rice and lentils to add to their child’s daily meals.
- Twenty pennies makes it possible for a family to buy a whole meal for their child.
Money donations will also help provide:
- Shots so kids won’t get measles, mumps, and chicken pox.
- Treatment for bites from stray dogs or monkeys, snakes or scorpions.
- Annual dental check-up, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
