Kids2Kids - Sandwich Board

(Hint: It’s Not Something You Eat )

If you’ve watched a lot of old movies or TV sitcoms, you’ve probably seen lots of sandwich board signs. These are large signs that you wear, with a message on the front and back. You may want to make a sandwich board or two and have members of your group wear them around between church school and church.

Here’s how to do it.

  1. Go to an art or office supply store and buy sheets of foam board. You’ll want two large sheets for every person you plan to dress as
a Kids To Kids symbol–one for the front of the person, and one for the back.

  2. Use an overhead projector to enlarge and draw the symbols onto tissue paper that you can then transfer to the foam board.

  3. Color or paint the symbols. Be creative! You may want to use things like glitter or ribbon, too.

  4. Fasten two boards together at the top with some rope or wire, leaving room for someone to stick their head through. The idea is to create a hole where the person can put the two boards over their head and then balance both a front and back board on their shoulders.
