Sometimes there are families who do not have enough money to buy the many things that newborn babies need. They don’t have money for a baby crib or a new car seat. They might not even have enough money for diapers. If you have ever been around newborn babies you know they sleep a lot and they use a lot of diapers! There are also babies who are born too early and have to spend extra days in the hospital. Some babies are born with health problems and need all kinds of extra attention. All of these babies are called “at-risk babies.” You can be there for these newborn at-risk babies and their families. You can help in big and small ways.

There are Newborns in Need Chapters all over the United States. There could be one right in your hometown! If you can’t find one ask how you can start one in your community. Contact us at: nationaloffice@newbornsinneed.org.
Pray for all newborn babies, their families and all the people who help to care for them.
Send a “Thank You” note to Pfafftown Christian Church in Pfafftown, North Carolina for donating office space for the National Office of Newborns in Need.
The church address is the same as the Newborns in Need National Office address.
Put together “Newborn Kits”
In each kit, include a small, very soft blanket (from 29"-36"), a hat, booties, a sweater and a sleeper or gown. Put items for each “Newborn Kit” inside a cloth bag or a large ziplock bag. You can make or buy these items. Maybe there’s a knitting group in your church who can teach you to knit and help your Kids to Kids group make the baby items.
Make “Comfort Quilts”
Perhaps there is a quilting group in your church who can help.
Register to participate in the Largest Baby Shower on the Planet.
Send your name and address to kidstokids@newbornsinneed.org to be a Newborns in Need Shower Ambassador. Anyone can hold a shower for NIN and babies all over the country will be warm and snug because of your love for them. Let’s see how many showers we can have all over the country in February 2011!! We will send you your baby shower kit in January. You can raise funds or collect needed baby items such as:
- Cloth and disposable diapers
- sleepers/gowns
- socks/booties
- receiving blankets
- fleece or crocheted blankets
- pacifiers
- burp cloths
- washcloths and baby towels
- soft toys
- crib sheets
- Baby shampoo/powder/lotion
- Baby bottles
